Hey,

I'm on the waiting list for the Class of 2013. Does anyone know how long that list is?? Or if we can find out where we place on it?

Thanks

I'm from SC's congressional district 5 and haven't heard anything. When did you receive your letter letting you know that you were on the list?

This waiting is so hard, but I'm still hopeful. Good luck.

I agree, I am still waiting for any good news from AFA. I am from SoCal Dist. 38th. nom. by Hon. Grace Napolitano. I hope we all hear from the Academy soon because the waiting is nerve wracking and I am nervous whether I got in or not. Well, good luck candidates for class of 2013.

Last year, our son had been wait listed and then received his appointment to USMA 5/1. His MALO had explained that applications are re reviewed over and over again as the number of available slots drop. It was in his best interest to visit with his MALO and consider the options...prep school, academy development programs such as NMMI or regular college with ROTC should the effort of getting into the academies be unsuccessful. During Founder's Day we had a former Sec of the Army tell us he applied three times before getting accepted. So view the process as being a test of nerve and commitment. It is also a good time to check and update the details of your application especially those items that could strengthen your chances. We heard a number of ideas about finding out the rank on the list etc. My only advice is not to waste time with the numbers/rank. It only takes one slot to get in and it is up to you to figure out how to get your name on it. Good luck and congrats on getting this far. In my world I (and many more parents like me) stand in awe of individuals like yourself who are mature enough to make this commitment. If you don't make it don't beat yourself up about it because you are still the cream of the crop.

I'm in SC Congressional District 3. I received notification about the waiting list like two months ago or something like that. I'm qualified for admission, but am waiting to hear. I have a presidential nomination to West Point. Managed to get Sen Graham's for Naval Academy, but unfortunately cannot attend the USNA because of eyesight issues.

How do you even find out where you stand?

My son is awaiting news on appointments, but doesn't even know if he is wait-listed. He checks the application website and has seen no changes and received no notifications one way or another. How can we find out if he is even in the running? Any clue will do.

He can go ahead and make contact with his MALO or his Regional Commander.

Good News!

Hello Everyone! I have finally received my appointment notification by mail. My congressman actually knew about it in Feb.!! So maybe you could call your congressmans office to check your status.

Good luck to all of you still waiting. You all deserve an appointment!!

Hope the waiting ends soon.

Good luck

My son, as others here I am sure, is still waiting to hear. He received an email last week from admissions stating he is still on the waiting list and would know soon. Plan B is fully in place for him.

To all others in this same boat, good luck, the waiting is for an answer is soon to end!

As far as I know, the waiting list doesn't even matter. I got denied about a month ago and just today got my appointment package.
