Did anybody who was on the SLE Waitlist end up getting a slot yet? The waitlisted letter indicated DD would be notified by April 15th if she got in. We did not hear anything, so we are assuming she did not. However, we're wondering if it is still a possibility since she has not gotten the rejection letter, yet.

Our daughter just released her spot at SLE last week due to a conflict. I imagine others, now that NASS acceptances are all in, will be juggling and possibly releasing too. As a result (and this is just a pure GUESS) I would think that there is still hope for those on the waitlist.
I don't know if she got a clear time frame for releasing, but it seems that her SLE forms were soon due so she needed to get them in or let go of her spot.
Good luck to your daughter.

Same situation here with DS. Portal says wait list. No notification even though an earlier communication said final offer (positive or negative) would be sent by 15 April.

Waiting on making flight reservation because he has NASS Session 2 - the week after SLE. We were hoping he could do both and go from SLE to NASS without flying back home.

ETA: Copied this from an email to DS from WP on 2 April:

"Offer notification have been sent out on daily basis since March 1. New
offers are being sent out as students decline offers.

Most students on the wait list will receive and non selected letter on their
candidate portal. Those students at the top of the wait list will receive a
notification that there may be a last minute offer as students withdraw
because of sports champion play off, injuries or illness."

This information was posted on the West Point's Summer Leader facebook page today:

"Today, I sent out an email to all of those that I had offered SLE but didn't have a confirmation that they were attending (and hadn't yet received/processed their paperwork). If you replied to it, thanks. Your status on the Candidate Portal will be changing from "offered" to "invited". Once we receive all your forms and payment and process them, your status will change to "accepted" and you should see an acceptance packet posted to your portal. Next Monday, I will offer SLE seats off the waiting list."

The key info from said email:
-Everyone offered is asked to respond with a "yes" by this Friday so more people on the waiting list can be let in (or a "no", which opens up a spot).
-If an accepted person does not have all their forms in by May 1st, the slot can be offered to somebody else.

What that might mean is that offers off the waiting list will most likely come next Monday and in early May. This is obviously no guarantee, just guessing to the best of my knowledge. Best of luck to all still waiting to hear!

Think positive...DD was offered a slot last year for SLS near the end of the time frame and attended, and this year she was offered an appointment for the class of 2017! On the other hand she was turned down in 7 days from USAFA SLS and then ended up with an appointment there this year too. So it is a good experience, but push forward even if you do not get into the summer programs. She will be at WP Rday in 70 days! Work hard.

DD was offered a slot yesterday. She is thrilled to be able to attend.

Congrats. DS is still on the wait list. At this point, he'd be pretty busy if offered, though. He has Boys State the week after, and NASS the week after that.

Congrats! I am sure it will be a great experience.

LLL...if your son gets a spot don't let being too busy stop him if he really wants it. We have heard of many doing SLE, NASS then AFA ss. Our daughter is doing the later two. She released SLE because of a family conflict.

Some say going to 1 is fine, 2 okay and 3 overkill (our BGO for one says this). But others who have been there and done that learned different things at each one and seem to have enjoyed it. Our family has NO military experience so all she can get via any avenue will help with this huge choice of whether to pursue an appointment.

For those going to SLE, please let us know how it was!!
