Waiver for Eczema

I used to have eczema as a kid, and hardly have it anymore. I put it on my Medical records, and when I was at the appointment, I found out I'm allergic to nickel (I have been consuming vitamins with nickel in them) My eczema has caused me to be rejected for the DODMERB and I don't get eczema rashes anymore. Is it highly possible that I will get a waiver?

I'm sure there is someone on here who can probably give you a more official answer but my guess is that for at least the AF its probably not waiverable.

My husband is AD AF and smallpox vaccine is required for deployments. Because our daughter has eczema they wouldn't even give it to him until after he deployed b/c of the risk to her. I can't imagine they'd be willing to give it to an airman with eczema and its a requirement for deployments.

Wait, do you mean that your allergies gave you rashes that caused you to be misdiagnosed with eczema? If so then you should be able to prove that you don't have it and that you're good to go! I'm mildly allergic to nickel, or at least I was, nickel filled jewelry no longer irritate me so I might have gotten over it. Either way it should be no big deal. OR do you mean that you still do really have eczema AND you are allergic to nickel? That is totally different

The key words were "Hardly have it anymore".

Waivers are now very hard to get and the chances are slim. Dodmerb does not request the waivers, the AFROTC puts in the request on your behalf. Check to see if a waiver has been applied for, the best you can do is wait for the results and make a plan B if it is not approved.

As Jcleppe stated waivers are becoming rare with each day.

Either you have eczema or you have an allergy, or maybe both!

If it was my child, I would take you to a dermatologist that understands the DoDMERB process or is renown in the field.
