Hello,
Doesn't anyone can explain me how this process works? I got my senator and congress nominations for USNA since November 15th and all application is complete but I do have a Waiver pending on the DoDMERB due to Hearloss.... My questions is: Does the waiver process started automatically and then USNA decided if candidate qualified for admissions?
Thank you

It is a little more complicated than it might appear. They will pursue the waiver if you appear to be competitive for an appointment. If you see "waiver requested". Then that is a good thing. Timelines will vary significantly. Good luck

If the SA determines that you are "competitive for an offer of appointment" the waiver process will start automatically.

Some DoDMERB documents to help you understand the process

5. Service Academies = If you are determined to be “competitive for an offer of appointment” (determined by the Offices of Admissions), medical waiver consideration will be automatically requested on your behalf. You are NOT required to request a medical waiver. Conversely, if you are not competitive for an offer of appointment, either after evaluation or because enough of the application has NOT been completed, there will be no medical waiver consideration. There may be periods in between, where the Admissions office has NOT made this determination yet.
