My son was dq'd for spondylolysis and a waiver was requested by USMA. DoDMERB sent the letter on Nov 16, and it asked for two administrative remedials (a doctor's note releasing him to full unrestricted activity and an orthopedic questionnaire addressing current activities). These were sent in less than a week, by email and by certified mail. I would have thought that would have a quick turnaround. It's been over two months and he has heard nothing. Is there any way to follow up to make sure they did, in fact, receive the two documents? Or is this par for the course and he should sit tight?

I don't know what a normal timeframe to hear would be but over 2 months seems a bit long. I would not "sit tight" and wait. I would have him contact folks at USMA and DoDMERB for an answer.

He can try and send an email asking for an update. The waiver process can take a long time, last year it was not uncommon for applicants to wait 3 months or more to get an answer.
