Want to re-enter the USAFA

What can I do to re-enter the USAFA? I was disenrolled for academics.

For West Point, you essentialy reapply to include nomination as long as you are still within the age limit.

Few cases I seen, they attend community colleges or regular colleges to improve their academic standing

Want to re-enter USAFA

It was only my first semester. I was pulling all A's and B's my second semester. I tried to appeal but with no luck. I was asked to disenroll for a 1.2 GPA and NO conduct or other issues. My military GPA was 2.927

How recently and what were the specific levels of remediation leading up to the final conclusion? What did the outbrief say? Prior Prep School attendance?

Singleton,

I can't speak for AFA, but West Point as a full time admissions officer assigned to deal with former cadets reapplying.

Surpirse that you didn't get any instruction about reapplying during your exit interview.

Contact the AFA admissions office.

Chapter 5 of the USAFA Curriculum Handbook contains the following information :

Readmission of Former Cadets Program (USAFAI 36-2005). Cadets disenrolled academically must attend another four-year accredited university in order to qualify for readmission. If they improve their grades and take courses that may transfer to USAFA, they may be eligible to apply for readmission under the Readmission of Former Cadets Program. The program requires interested students to again secure an Academy appointment and again complete the entire application process.

You may want to look at the whole chapter for other guidance. The handbook is available at the academy website.

The real problem you are facing is that the AFA is not appointing as large of cadet/class group as they did in prior yrs.

You need to prove and fight for that spot against someone who has yet to be tested.

What academically have you done since you left the AFA? Did you take the hardest courses available?

I was just disenrolled on 2/4/11. I have already enrolled in a Junior / Technical College so I will not loose this entire semester. I am taking Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, World History and Computer Science. I will return to the USAFA to prove it can be done.

I am glad to see that you are taking this up as I will not be deterred. As long as you have that conviction there will always be a chance.
