Wave of appointments

Ta daa! Last day before USAFA Spring Break, and the magical portal has good news for DS! Someone in our congressman's office gave us an informal heads-up that this was coming -- I think this was part of the stack of appointments released to members of Congress last week. It looks like they give the offices a week to make contact if they want to, then the portal gets updated.
 
So happy for everyone that found out this morning. Remember that appointments are still to be made so don't hang your head yet if you haven't heard . I know at least for me that the phone call I received was one of the happiest days of my life so far and was just a huge relief. Good luck to everyone and I hope to see you all during the fun that is BCT.

According to current/prior cadets, it'll be "the most fun you never want to have again"!
 
Bailey and everyone enjoying the great news, congratulations! It has been fun watching you want this so badley. My son was just recognized and he is enjoying freshman year as much as anyone can. I remember watching one of the videos on web guy as my son was going through basic training and about three days into basic the speaker addressing the basic cadets said,"you couldn't wait to get in here and now after 3 days of basic you are trying to figure out how fast you can make it through the four years and get out!" Enjoy each day leading up to basic. You are in for a wild ride. Parents hold on as well. It's just as wild. Good luck to all those still waiting. There are still more appointments to come.
 
I just spoke to my admissions councilor and besides making me extremely anxious ("...it looks like you've got some good scores here... YOUR PACKAGE HAS ALREADY GONE BEFORE THE BOARD AND HAS A GRADE, now it's just a process... enlisted, I'd think they might send you to the Prep School... maybe mid-April for your update...") he said that notifications would continue to go out next week despite the fact that USAFA is on spring break. So everyone still waiting, don't despair! Still 97 more days for you to hear good news :)

Thank you! Yes, I was very blessed to get appointed to both. I had to do the very difficult act of declining my appointment to West Point this morning, but was so happy to accept my appointment to USAFA! I applied to USNA as well, but no word from the just yet. Still, I know where I'll be on June 25th, and that is in the beautiful Colorado mountains! I can't wait!
