For the newbies out here, I wanted to let you know there is a group on www.facebook.com called West Point Moms. If you are a mom and have a cadet at West Point, you are welcome to join us. We also have a group called West Point Moms Bake, where we send goodie boxes to deployed service people (regardless of the branch) once a month.
The mom in charge is so organized. We are divided into teams w/ about 10-12 on each team. Each team sends to the same serviceperson. That way, they get enough goodies to share w/ friends, company mates, etc. Most of us sent Christmas decorations along w/ goodies in Dec. We send personal care items, magazines, etc. It's a small thing for us to do, but it's a day brightener to someone who is deployed. I showed great self control this month when my assigned person turned out to be navy...I didn't send any "beat navy" stuff!
