What do I do next (2nd application?)

balls to the wall...is an old cranium term when women were not around...use your imagination.
Nobody in the AF says the word for what is on the top of your shoulders...they say cranium or skull or something akin to that. After 20 yrs of marriage to Bullet if somebody says that word, an entire verse runs through my mind b/c every flyer has the same response and they say it in chorus! (google "H**D who said H**D"...see I won't even write it) Even at Bullets retirement that word came up and they all shouted a particular verse.

As much as the military has tried to become PC, they are still adults being little kids.

Terms like balls to the wall, can be found offensive by many. It is not meant to offend people, it is just adult boys using teenage vernacular, no offense to the gals. In the fighter community there are particular traditions...sock check, deceased insect, naming ceremonies and slang...all of these sits can be viewed as not PC, but nobody will ever say it doesn't bond them as a group! It is important that they bond since they are protecting each others' back in very stressfull sits.

Not to take this thread off more topic, but the AF flying world sing many offensive songs at the club on any given night. It is a part of their tradition

AT SJAFB every flyer and most wives would sing Dennis Leary's song "I am an A**hole" at 10. It is an offensive song (google it), but the beauty was to see everybody stop and sing it. For 3 minutes, every flyer came together regardless of the squadron or sex. Trust me the Chiefs (335th) view the Rockets (336th) and the 333rd view the 334th as rivals, it is similiar to how the USNA views USMA for football. For that time they are each others brother/sister protecting their own.

So please don't take it as a negative or vulgar when someone says balls to the walls, it is just tradition on how they speak. Also if you think that is bad, or the Leary song is I am sure many can make your head spin worse! Canadian rodeo ranks the highest on my list.

Back on topic...what do you next, start practicing your CFA to max, take the hardest courses at college and find out if your ROTC DET commander will suporrt you!

I promise this is the last off topic remark.

2. balls to the wall 291 up, 34 down
To push to the limit, go all out, full speed.
A very colorful phrase, one needs to be careful when using "balls to the wall". Although its real origin is very benign, mos people assume it is a reference to testicles.
In fact it is from fighter planes. The "balls" are knobs atop the plane's throttle control. Pushing the throttle all the way forward, to the wall of the cockpit, is to apply full throttle.

This is the definition I heard.

Life I bow to you...my experience is from guys screaming it in the crud room, thus as bodies slamming against walls it takes a whole new meaning. Also have spent 20 yrs re-learning how to speak at the squadron without getting in trouble...i.e. Bullet would come home and say here's the newsletter they placed in my CONTAINER...B*X is not allowable..don't ask me why!

Bullet will tel you balls to the wall means engaging the afterburner and getting his butt out of there!

Personally, I am with tpg...why join the military? Because they pay you to play with very expensive toys! I don't care what branch you join, it still goes back to being 5 yrs old and playing.
