So far I've gotten my fully qualified letter and my senator's nomination, which I am not sure if it's principle or not. My field force called me and told me that my status changed to "admissible." Just wondering what exactly it means.

I'm hoping to bump this up. I just got moved to admissible status as well and haven't been able to find clear enough of an answer.

Did you recently submit a higher SAT/ACT scores?

To say status changed to "admissible" is somewhat misleading. Based on the initial application, before the second step kit, candidates are evaluated on their "potential" for admission and accordingly there are "candidate potential" with admissible, competitive, risk, and undetermined.

There is a "candidate file status," but those are void, undetermined, qualified, disqualified, accepted, declined.

Ah that must be it. My application has been complete since September but I recently improved my scores and sent those in. I remember my MALO telling me I was "competitive" status this summer. She called yesterday to tell me I was "admissible" and that is a step above in evaluation of one's candidate potential I see. I also understand that my nomination sources are made aware of my status?

Does this status appear on the USMA portal somewhere? If so, where would it appear?

I've looked. As far as I can tell your MALO is the only one who can tell you because they have access to that for all their candidates.

It is only on the field force web. MemberLG is correct. "Admissible" is provided to convey to the field force who is more competitive for admission, it can be misleading if you are in a very competitive district, though. Unfortunately it is based on a national profile, not a specific congressional district one, which is what really matters.

Great job continuing to work to improve your file though. I hope it does mean you are more competitive. Good luck.
