Will the packet my DD sent in with her transcripts, resume, etc. get returned? Will it get thrown away? Also, will the MOC that nominated her release her resume and info to the press or will the local press contact us if they want a story? Thanks!

No, most likely the MOC won't return anything to you. All three MOC for my DS released a news release on their website/FB with a list of all those nominated and which SA. One listed name/SA only, one listed high school also, the other listed city.
