Hi, this is my second thread here and as I have mentioned before I will be attending AFROTC this Fall without a scholarship. I have done quite some research about rated vs non-rated jobs, but lately I came across someone mentioning "non-tech rated" positions in the AF and I couldn't quite figure what that meant. Any info will be appreciated, thank you.

Non-tech rated refers not to a job, but a type of enrollment allocation for Field Training. You apply for Field Training based on if you are a tech or non-tech major, and if you intend to go rated or non rated. So non-tech rated means someone who has committed to apply for a rated job (pilot, cso, rpa, abm) their second to last year of AFROTC and is studying what the Air Force considers a non-technical degree.
