If my medical status changed from Disqualified to Requested Waiver, does that mean admissions requested a waiver from the medical staff?

Only West Point can ask for a medical waiver. It is for candidates who have a very competitive files. No guarantees but your chances just went up considerably.

Welcome to the Hopeful Waiver Waiters Club. Here at HWWC, we strive to make time go faster as we (im)patiently wait for the waiver. So pull up a chair and grab a drink. No knowing what happens from here.

Seriously though, a requested waiver means that they view you as a competitive candidate which is a good sign for toward your WCS score. I am also part of the HWWC and have been a member for over three months.
