Question.....my DD with an LOA received both her DoDMERB QUALIFIED status this week and a nomination. Since she has an LOA in hand, is that all she should expect to receive from USNA, or do they send an official offer of appointment? If so, when would that happen? She/we are not sure of what happens next so thanks for any insights you can share.

Thanks. We're new to this forum so we don't have enough activity to send back a PM. What's meant by "if the history is correct"?

With an LOA, a nom, and DODMERB qualified, she has an appointment. It typically takes 2-3 weeks for USNA to process the paperwork and send her the appointment certificate. Now she needs to "keep her nose clean," so to speak.

    To Proud American,
    Congratulations on your DD.
If your DD's LOA was conditional upon receipt of nomination and DoDmerb qualification and your DD got both of them, your CIS will note "Nomination".
Below was my DS's time line last year.

End of Sept, 2011 received LOA (conditional upon receipt of nomination)
    11/25/11 Received nomination
11/29/11 Nomination was recorded in CIS
12/7/11 Received a phone call from MOC that DS received an appointment
12/13/11 BFE (Big Fat Envelope containing the appointment letter in a NAVY blue folder) arrived.

It takes about 2 weeks to receive BFE after "nomination" is posted in your DD's CIS. Therefore your timing of receipt of appointment depends on when your MOC submits his/her nominations to USNA. Please also note that some MOC do not necessary call before the arrival of the BFE.

Again congratulations. You can't really bubble wrap her but pray for your DD to stay healthy and out of trouble until I-day!

    Congratulations!

You will recieve a big fat envelope in the mail soon. In it is the Blue Folder that makes it official. It's a great day when it shows up. Enjoy this coming Holiday Season with your DD!!!

    Giving thanks!

We'll be watching for BFE in our mailbox too! Found out yesterday that USNA granted medical waiver. DS is now triple qualified, has nomination in hand and received LOA last month. We are so grateful;it's going to be a Happy Thanksgiving:smile: We continue to wish everyone the best in their SA journey!
