What should you do with old uniforms?

I apologize if this has been covered before...But what do you do with old uniforms? My son left his enlisted ASU's behind when he commissioned. He says they don't fit and he doesn't want them shipped to him. In this day and age of stolen valor, I hesitate donating it. Our municipal trash pickup does not want fabric in the landfill trash.
I have many sets of ACU's as well. Those are well worn and not in any condition to donate...
Any creative suggestions?

Maybe check with your local theater group or high school drama department to see if they could use them.

Local Jrotc units often appreciate when they get a few donated to them. Our unit is not supplied with them. If you know a few others who may have some also to donate I am sure the JROTC kids would be so happy. The booster purchased a few for our orienteering team.

This is an outfit that takes military uniforms and turns them into bracelets, then donates a major portion of the proceeds. I have heard of them from various sources, but have not donated as yet, otherwise, I would have done the due diligence and researched them.

There are also quilt patterns that can be made with camo.

Some bases also have uniform shredding programs, to prevent them from falling into terrorist hands. There is some discussion that this is a drop in the bucket, that uniforms can be readily found at thrift stores and Army-Navy stores.

Local JROTC is a great idea. Additionally, if you are near an Army location, most have a resale shop that includes uniforms. Enlisted soldiers can get a second ASU there and have it tailored.
