What to expect over the Christmas break?

Am sooooo sorry! Am sure he has been on the phone w/ the airline and by now has a new plan worked out. The cadets are pretty good at figuring this out!

He could not get through to a person at the airline last night. I am sure everyone on Delta was calling them. The hopeful news is that around 11 pm last night another cadet from Washington told him about his flight which takes off at 4:30 out of Newark. It was still scheduled to leave and had seats. I booked him on it hoping the storm will hold off long enough for them to takeoff. Got a call about an hour ago, they were in NYC about to catch the train to Newark and it was not snowing in NYC yet. I checked on his flight and it isn't cancelled yet. Now we wait and pray.

Worst case is he will be camping in Newark until tomorrow or Monday.

WOO HOO!!! His flight out of Newark is in the air! :jump1:
Thanks for the good wishes.

let it snow let it snow let it snow

We are up to 8 stranded mids and counting today, with cancelled flights and bad driving conditions. Time to do loaves and fishes routine!

Congratulations- home is only 4 hours or so away !! I'll bet your grocery bill has already risen in anticipation of the event .
Mine sent me random photos taken from his room this morning-Statues of Stonewall Jackson and George C Marshall (which I posted on the forum) up to their rear ends in snow. I understand that the bugler had a sense of humor last night and played Taps followed by "Let it Snow". Ah well - as long as the chow holds out in the mess hall all is well.

Kind of wonder if the CGA is already out? I hope that most of the cadets there were already enroute out before today-If not they must be getting smacked around by this storm right about now as it stayed on the southern rim of New England.

CGA and snow

CGA lucked out. Finals ended Tuesday and most cadets were gone by Wednesday night.
