Being newbie's to all of this. The Parents Page info says the dress is informal for Friday along with what that means. But, what about Beat Retreat since we have heard that it gets really warm in the gym. Are shorts appropriate? Also, it says that Saturday is casual. Not exactly sure what this means. What do most folks wear to the Acceptance Ceremony since the game follows. In other words what is appropriate for both (shorts, jeans, slacks)? Thanks!

Y'know, I was wondering this myself. I have some split-skirt pants with some sleeveless tops that I'm planning to wear - unless someone says otherwise.

To be honest nobody is really going to care what you wear. Don't wear anything offensive or something that would draw unneccessary attention to yourself (this includes girlfriends/boyfriends/sisters/brothers etc).

For the acceptance parade wear something that you want your picture taken in as you will likely be pinning the eagle on your son/daughter. The temperatures can range so lightweight pants are not a bad idea.

For beat retreat you will be fine in a smart pair of shorts, it's going to be dark and everyone will be paying attention to the concert and not what anyone else is wearing.

My father always wore slacks and a button down shirt, but then again he always wears slacks and a button down shirt to everything even at home. My mom would usually wear slacks or shorts (she never wears dresses) and if I remember correctly even wore a Kings Point track suit one time.

If you want to be completely 'safe' you could pretty much wear whatever an office worker would wear to work on a "casual Friday."
