when can i expect appointment kit?

Yeah. They should've changed my gpa from a 4.12 to a 3.92 but they haven't. Also, about a week ago this lady asked me if I had submitted everything because they deadline was approaching, and I said yea...I submitted it like 2 months and a half ago. I really don't know what's taking them so long.

Did you ask what was missing? Something seems amiss, when the file is complete it goes up to the board and it is given a WCS...that doesn't mean an appt will be sent out, b/c if somebody on the slate does not have a completed file no appt can be assigned to that MOC

BTW...this lady should be referred as the regional...not meaning to be antagonistic, just trying to enlighten you giving proper respect. The military is about respect...this lady also probably sent you a christmas card and the DVD...believe it or not she is on your side

I plan on accepting my appointment after Orientation or during, whenever I can. Will I get my appointment kit and PO box number then?

Guess what I discovered in my closer readthrough of the kit!?! The form listing sizing for uniforms, which it says must be done by a professional tailor, is due postmarked by MARCH 1st!!! Is it just me, or does this seem riddiculous to visit a base tailor or a clothing shop within one week of recieving the kit? I guess I'm going to the tailor this weekend!

I was told recently what I was missing, and apparently it still hasn't been approved to be seen by the review board (ALO's review). Long story short- I had to be interviewed again by a different ALO because there was something wrong with the first one's interview review...they're telling me this 4.5 months later. Actually no, they didn't tell me, they changed my ALO. I saw the new name on my application file online, e-mailed him to say hi, introduce myself, and ask if there was a problem that I hadn't addressed, and THEN they tell me. Well, I'm not grumpy anymore. It's nothing that I did, and my new ALO was very very nice :thumb:.

Anyway, this paper concludes my file and thanks to this minor misfortune, I am yet waiting for a WCS or whatever else it is that they give me. Unfortunately I have no clue if they want what I have to offer or not, and unfortunately it's too late for me to update anything and better my luck. Oh well, life happens.

I am the only one on my MOC's slate, so if anyone needed to finish his/her application it was me. (This is the good thing of being from CT) Long story short- I am now one of their principal nominees.

Also, My apologies Pima, I had no idea who she was so I had no idea how to refer to her. I'm sure if I had known I would've said it. Just the way I often refer to people as "counselor," "MOC," "Senator," et cetera . Thank you though, Mrs. Pima.

I'm totally gonna audition!!! I played mellophone with Chops Inc last summer and we went to DCA nationals in NY. Do you think we need our own instrument? I hope it isn't a problem that I won't have played since last august :p.

Thanks a lot! I haven't been able to find much info on the D&B online - just a few Youtube clips and a fact sheet on the AFA webpage. It looks like a lot of fun. I'll start a new thread for D&B soon.

I still haven't recieved my kit...Tomorrow's the last day of February, hope I get it tomorrow.

don't wanna be a buzz kill for you guys but when i visited i talked to a guy who was in it and a few other people around him...he hated it. they make you sign a contract saying you won't quit during the first year no matter what. you miss training (to me thats bad but others good i guess) but you miss out of lots of bonding time from what i heard....to go play an instrument. me personally i dont want to miss out on important things like that.

ya thats what a cadet also confirmed for me. He says he definitely doesnt regert the decision to do it, but he just says you have to make sure you really want to do it. I play, but i have decided to not pursue it, rather, im just going to play for pure enjoyment in my dorm. but dont make the decision on others points of view, make it for yourself cause its you that has to live with it.

i want to still play the trumpet, so I will probably end up trying out for jazz band...its just more fun

Man, mine came late! My parents just called yesterday and said the kit came...so the February thing was true...just the verrrrry end of it. Thought it would never come.
