When does the second wave come out?

My son got a PDF fiel added to this portal saying he is fully qualified and on NWL. Is it similar to regular college waiting list? Can anyone help me to evaluate his chances? He is nominated by our congresswoman from NY district 6 (New York City). his ACT 33 (33 math, 34 science, 34 english, 29 reading, 9 writing), SAT 2050 (720 math, 630 reading, 700 writing), GAP 3.6, school varsity sports (basketball, tennis, swimming), recommendation from employer, 4 AP classes (AP Stats, AP Physics, AP Phsychology, AP Calculus, all 4 or 5 ), he is from very competivie specilized NYC school, his physical exam was above everage in all 10 tests from what was printed on WP website. We are immigrants from Russia, he was born in US but fluent in RUssian (he can speak, write and read ), not sure if it's advantage or disadvantage considereing recent deep dive in US-Russia relationship. His grandfather is retired colonel from Russian army, again not sure if it s good or bad thing, but he is dreaming to continue family tradition to be an army officer and wrote about it in his essay.
We visited WP last year, and he became were determined.
I am sure he is not the prinicpal nomination. When we wentofor an interview for nomination, there were 3 veterans conducting an interview and the first thing they say is that he has the longest hair from all applicants ( he does nto have long hair, but definitely not the "military" haircut). He though he woudl not get a nomination and was excited when he got one 2 days later.

I just heard from my FFR that the next wave is on its way soon!

What do you think, this week?
I really hope so! I feel gray hair forming from this wait!
I really hope so.. I've read about people completing their files and being accepted a couple weeks later. I hope mine goes like that. The fact that still a few hundred 3Q with Noms do not get accepted worries me a bit. But God has a plan!

I'm definitely on the same boat with you! I'm 3Q and my FFR told me that I remind him of his son who got accepted and he can see me going to WP but so many are given a TWE I'm scared too. But, it's just the start and we did everything we could do :)

I'm curious as to how many offers have been sent so far..
Well admissions posted on their Facebook page that the class of 2019 is building and 429 offers have been made. But since then more offers have been slowly drawn out so who knows? Maybe 500 now?

I think another round of a couple hundred will go out this week, most files were just thrown out since the deadline past. So now west point isn't waiting on competitive candidates to finish applying.

The NWL is based on WCS and it allows WP to pick the students who can reflect the diverse student body they're looking for. There are previous threads that can describe this the best.

I'm hoping to see several boxes of BFEs being mailed this Wednesday on USMA Admission's facebook page. It was good to see the first batch go out. Even better if my DS gets an appointment in this round. Good luck to all the candidates who are following their admission process closely on this forum. Us parents are very interested parties to your journey.

About how many offers do they send out total? I understand that they want about 12o0 per class. And have to take into factor that some people will turn down offers. And about how many are still to go out?
