Hi everyone. Hope you can help... I'm looking for advice on when to send school supplies to ds (pencils, paper, calculator, study guides, etc...). I know sometime after indoc ends and (I'm guessing) the day before or day classes begin? Does USMMA give each plebe a list in advance of what school supplies they need, or are they to figure that out as they go along? Thanks! --H20Bug1

probably ought to send the calculator to indoc, seeing as youre given a math placement test before school starts. school supplies can be purchased at the NEX, although they do have a habit of running out. i would say wait until after indoc and until they can give you a post office box number, then send the package. Box numbers will be assigned during indoc, but all packages recieved during indoc are delivered straight to their platoons. there's usually a period of a day or two of administrative "lag time" where textbook issue, uniform issue, etc takes place, during which they wont need the supplies yet.

Do they not issue school supplies anymore? I seem to recall getting all I needed except for my calculator (one of those fancy new ones with LED numbers and all, running on a 9v battery, so much for slide rule class). Well, maybe I bought some paper, pens and pencils at the Ship's Store. . .
