When you receive your AROTC letter, post results here

Congratulations to you bdoyle! Has V Tech accepted you? Hope so. I'm sure you'll love the Corps of Cadets! Engineering major?

Thank you very much! I have been accepted as well. I'm actually Doug the human nutrition and exercise major. My goal is to be a personal trainer of some sort after my service.

ROTC scholarship LSU

Hey all,

My son was offered a 4 yr AROTC scholarship to his top two schools of choice. Of course, he chose his first one which is LSU. He has already accepted, taken his physical exams, and is waiting for the final confirmation. Any idea as to how long it will take DoDMERB to confirm? The Dodmets site states that it has been sent to DoDMERB.

We are so proud of him and excited to become part of the military family. We have no family members in the military, so we are learning everything from scratch. This forum has been a wealth of knowledge to us. Thanks to all for the information shared.

Cajuncarrier,
The DoDMERB is different for everyone. If there are no complications it could be a day. My son took his exams on the 20th of February, received at DoDmerb on 28 of February and quailified by 1 March. So it could be as quick as a day or two! Good luck!

Update:
Boston College was DD first choice, still waiting to be accepted. She submitted her AROTC notification of intent documentation on 3/1/13.
University of Texas was her instate school option, just accepted to the McComb Business school. She opted to roll the dice.

Also 3Q'd with Nomination to USMA.

Oh, It's been a week since it went to DoDMERB. I think the only question would be his vision. The Dr. said he has poor depth perception in his left eye, but he wears a contact in that one. Of course for the exam he wasn't wearing it. Hopefully he will pass because his vision can be corrected to 20/20. I've been monitoring the DoDMERB forum just in case we have to apply for a waiver. thanks

Thanks,

His exams were Feb. 18th. DoDMETS didn't receive his paper work until Feb. 25th. So we are waiting.
