When should we start seeing our stipend and book allowance deposit in our bank account? I'm a 4/C I was just curious as to when they began the direct deposits. Thanks

In addition to the below, I read somewhere that you need to be enrolled as a full time student for at least 6 weeks before your stipend is paid.
https://www.nrotc.navy.mil/scholarship_criteria.aspx
"The Navy will activate scholarships upon the satisfactory development of a degree plan with the host NROTC unit and university and upon enrollment in the assigned academic major."

You should get it Oct 1st. Understand that your scholarship is FY 2011. FY run Oct 1 to Sept 30, thus you fall into 11.

Additionally, even AD, pay is not forward, but back. In other words, you have to work 30 days before you get your monthly stipend. Just because you are there Aug 30th, it doesn't mean you will get a stipend Sept 1st. You need to complete the entire month.

If I recall correctly the other thing to understand about stipends is if it falls on a weekend, the money will not be in your account until Monday. In other words, the 1st hits on a Saturday, don't assume the money will be there at close of business Friday because it won't. It will be there first thing Monday a.m.

Ag and I x posted. I am coming from an AF POV and did the worst thing..ASSUMED that all branches are the same. We all know what Assume means.

It is also important to understand, that sometime kinks in the system exist and it can take months to work it out...Sorry, but I can tell you from personal experience that is true...one wrong digit inputted in the direct deposit number and your money is floating around in the black hole of cyber space.

Thanks all for your responses. I talked to one of the admin ladies that work at my battalion and she told me that we will be paid for Aug. 23 to Aug. 31 as well as our book stipend will be deposited with that. She also said that regular stipend will be paid the 1st and 15th of every month including September.

Unless something is uniquely different than the AD world, expect your 15th paycheck to be 1/2 of what your Oct 1. paycheck, because the pay for the 23-31st would be for the 15th, then your 1st paycheck would include 2 full weeks.

Also, as I stated earlier, ask if pay day is the 15th and it falls on a Sunday, will you have it on Friday, or will it be Monday? You don't want to be paying big time bank fees because you thought the money would be there on Friday when it really didn't show until Monday.

Your admin lady is correct. My son was a 4/C last year and he got stipend 9/15 and 10/1 and every 1st and 15th. Also, he got his O Week/Book reimbursement on 10/2.

Pima- Yes just like AD we receive 1/2 on both the 1st and 15th. The woman who I talked to in admin told me that if the 1st or 15th fell on a Sunday or holiday we would receive it after the date not before, don't know if it is the same as AD though.

Unless AD pay has changed in the past 2 yrs, if the 1st or the 15th falls on a weekend, it is available on the Friday before. Retirees get paid on Monday after the pay date which would be akin to cadets.
