Who is still waiting?

1605officer- how do you find out where your child stands in the rankings in regards to their nomination?

Still waiting in NJ - empty mailbox again. I was telling my husband how hard this is and we noticed what was playing on the radio - The Waiting by Tom Petty

I was actually expecting today to make three in a row but nothing from USNA. (DD got TWE from West Point Thursday and BFE from USAFA Friday.)

I'm so sorry, MDMom. We are also from MD, and nothing in today's mail for our DS as of yet. We did get a piece of mail that does not belong to us, so part of my brain thinks his TWE went to someone else's house.

I did get a call from a friend's mom (another MD-er), and their son got his TWE from USNA today AND an appointment to USAFA! Funny how they arrived at the same time.

I just happened to be shopping in Annpolis today. I think I saw every single USNA midshipman stolling around. We see them quite often, but for some reason, today it felt different for me. As we wait, day after day, for either the TWE or BBF, just seeing them today, made me so emotional. I'll try to put it out of my mind until Monday.

Just checked the mailbox here in OR - no news is good news. I think the waiting is the worst part. DS has appointment to USMA but waiting to hear from USNA.

UT- brother got TWE today from Annapolis. Nothing from AFA or WP, yet.

At least some have appointments to other SAs. I put all my eggs in the USNA basket (no Easter pun intended). Turned down AFA, when asked why, I advised that unless things changed and the AF now had subs, I would respectfully decline. At least I got a chuckle from the AF end.

Have a safe and Happy Easter!

shortmom, sorry to hear the TWE news. Your posts over the last months have informative, thoughtful, inspiring and insightful. Good luck to your daughter, no doubt she has a great future.

Guess we will all see what tomorrow brings. Good or bad, we will all be waiting not so patiently for the mail carriers. Isn't it funny how the mail seems to come in late on Mondays? Oh man, the suspense is killing me. I don't know how my DS is hanging on. When I ask him, he tells me that he is just not trying to think about it. So I will do all of the thinking instead. The weeks fly by and I can't believe that it is already April and it won't be long before school is out. How did that happen?:help:

You KNOW how sorry I am to hear the news Shortmom...I think your daughter will do great with PLAN B...but I was hoping she and my son would meet at USNA(IF my son even gets there...who knows!!??)....My best wishes are with you, my friend!!

So sorry to hear the news, Shortmom.

This is going to be a long day waiting for the mail-lady. I think the clock is actually ticking slower than normal.

agreed....tick tock tick tock. Interesting how time moves forward. I used to enjoy reading all USNA posts/answers/etc. Now in crunch time I really don't have the patience to read about NASS-ACT/SAT-and nxt years apps. Certainly an interesting cycle!

I am so sorry to read of the TWEs posted here in the past few days! :frown: However, there is no doubt in my mind that whatever these kids pursue, they will be a great success!

For those of you still waiting, my thoughts and prayers are with you!!

Mail-lady came here to Maryland also. Again, nothing. Can't decide if that's good or bad. Stalking continues . . .

Son is out of the running..told today he was turned down for USNA appointment...best of luck to all still waiting!
