Are firsties the only ones that run SLS or do cows help out too? I'm so excited. I wish this summer would just get here!!

If I remember correctly, the cows run the whole show

According to the SLS information on WP's website, it says both cows and firsties, but my son also only remembers cows from last summer.

I assume you've been offered and accepted a place at SLS - congrats! This is a great opportunity to make a good impression with the academy. You'll be administered the CFA and have an interview with your squad leader. I hope the weather cooperates more than it did for my son last year. Rain, rain, rain and more rain - a lot of events were canceled due to the rain.

I went last year. Cows mostly ran the squads and such, but firsties were the platoon leaders and company commanders, if memory serves me correctly. But I know that there were both cows and firsties running it.

This may sound very bad, but what is a cow??
Me and my family are very new to how service academies work and going to SLS is kind of a "getting with and understanding the program" type thing.

A cow is the West Point equivalent of a Junior.

    Plebe - Freshman
    Yearling/Yuk - Sophomore
    Cow - Junior
    Firstie - Senior
