Why did WP request a fax of my ACT results if they're a recipient of my scores?

I recently tried to update my portal profile, specifically my ACT scores, and I received an email back requesting I fax the results to a particular person involved with admissions. I'm wondering why an admissions person would request a fax of my results if West Point is one of the schools my ACT results are sent to.

Any ideas? Is this a good sign or just a mix up? Thanks

Our experience with Admissions is that they have a specific reason and they may or may not share it with you. Do what they ask ASAP.

Yeah I just received the ACT report on paper in the mail, I'm planning on faxing it tonight or tomorrow (as soon as the fax is set up). No idea why they would request a fax?

My guess is mix up.

What ever the reason, get used to it. The process is long and you will be fortunate if this is the only form/paperwork that you need to submit more than once.

Good luck!:thumb:

You are about to be in the military. Do what they ask ASAP. They have some good reason to ask for your ACT information. In the military they normally do not explain their actions - get use to it.

I'm not complaining about them asking for information from me at all, I'm just curious as to why they'd want me to fax it. I can easily get accustomed to military procedure haha

They probably requested a fax because they are looking at your file and did not have your scores yet. The request probably overlapped with the posting of your scores.
Can you see your scores on your portal?
That they are looking at your file is a good thing...

I can see my scores on the portal but they have not been updated. I guess they want the fax before they'll update it. I'm hoping that them requesting a fax and viewing my profile is a good sign haha

WP admissions gets a large tape/file with all the scores combined into this one data record. It takes a while to process this info, and get it to the right applicant files.

Last year, my son received an email from the regional admissions rep asking for his scores. His file was being reviewed and they did not have the latest info, and wanted to be sure everything was up to date.

End result, his fie was reviewed more completely.

The happy ending: he is now about to enter week 2 or CBT as part of the Class of 2014.

So take the advice, comply with requests ASAP.
