Why the Bowls Love Navy

water sports are also a NAVY strength

Doubtful that Midn will have a March-on prior to game today with the mud and water:confused:..... majority of parking lots are still flooded.....NAVY may need to use a few of their amazing LCACs (amphib hoovercraft) just to reach the stadium.....for the players it'll be just another (easier) version of Sea Trials " playing in the mud and water"......
advantage : NAVY !

:director: GO NAVY !!!!

It seems incredible that they are actually going to play tonight- most of the parking lot is still underwater as of this morning. I'm thinking that a delay is in order but I guess TV contracts must be obeyed:rolleyes: Well- good luck Navy- will be rooting for you from the relatively dry confines of Massachusetts.

Sadly- Navy's Poinsettia Bowl cruise ran aground last night. San Diego State controlled that game pretty handily last night. Here's hoping that Air Force and Army have more success against Ga Tech on 12/27 and SMU on 12/30.

Not scoring on the first drive of the second half seemed to take the wind out of Navy's sails. Also, Navy's running game seemed to be a lot more bothered by the wet field than it affected Hillman. I am going to have to look at a few replays before I can figure out how he managed to seemingly get through our line so many times practically untouched. He had an amazing game.

It's simple: watch the SDSU offensive line. They dominated the box. They blew textbook holes in Navy's defensive line. They pushed Navy off the line where they needed to, and let Navy kill themselves with over-penetration when they could. That's a great O-line they have there. All five of them started all 12 games this year. No injuries, and lots of cohesion.

Granted. Great line performing flawlessly. Hillman was through the line very quickly. No fakes. No diversions. Where were the linebackers and defensive backs. They seemed to have been caught totally flatfooted as if they were afraid to move on the soggy turf.

Congratulations Air Force on a 14-7 Independence Bowl win in over Ga Tech. Not exactly an offensive spell binder, but hung on to win thanks to an interception on around the 2 year line with 5 seconds left. Now Army gets to see if they can get a win in the Armed Forces Bowl.

Thanks for the congrats. Attendance was just shy of 40,000. 39,4xx or something like that. Funny thing is; Georgia tech was the one having a problem getting their fans there. They even discounted their tickets to $14, and still had problems. They can't be sure, but based on all the air force garb being worn in the stands, it's estimated that it was a 2:1 air force fans over georgia tech. So that was between 25,000-28,000 air force fans. I can live with that.

I can't figure out how a Bowl Game wound up in Shreveport to begin with - but hats off to all of the AF fans who made the journey.
The Army SMU game should be a lot more Offense than AF/GA Tech game- SMU under June Jones is taking a page from his playbook in Hawaii and passes a lot. Army's offense is spotty but I don't think that SMU has seen the Triple Option much (although they did play and lose to Navy), so if Jared Hassin is on - it could be a pretty offensively oriented game on both ends of the field.
