Winter/Spring 2009 Visitation Programs for Prospective Cadets

Academy Experience Program

This invitation only program provides the opportunity for students who have received an appointment to the Class of 2013 to shadow a cadet for 24 hours. They will attend classes and a team practice, eat in the cadet wardroom, and learn what cadet life is like first-hand. Opportunities to meet with coaches, faculty members, and admissions staff are available. The program includes a Q&A session and cadet-led tour of campus for parents. The program runs from 11am one day to 11am the next day. The following dates are available:

  • February 19-20
  • March 19-20
  • March 26-27
  • April 2-3
  • April 9-10
  • April 16-17

Science, Technology and Engineering Program (STEP) for Women

STEP is for girls in their senior or junior year who have an interest in engineering, science, math, or technology. Offered annually, this unique program combines real-world academics with an Academy orientation. The day will consist of hands-on workshops, a campus tour, lunch and Q&A session. Guests will enjoy access to cadets, faculty members, and Admissions staff. Parents are encouraged to attend and participate. This Friday only event will occur on February 20.

S.O.A.R. Diversity Program (Students Of All Races, formerly knows as Super Saturday)

Designed to give a diverse population of students and their families exposure to the Academy, this program’s limited size allows participants to have greater personal contact with cadets, Admissions staff, faculty members, and graduates. Guests will attend a slide show and Q&A session, observe a class, receive a tour of campus, participate in two dynamic panels with officers and current cadets, and enjoy lunch in the Cadet Wardroom. This program is now offered three Fridays per year and will occur this Spring on Friday, March 21.
