I applied EAII and I got an email saying my application was under review. If I don't receive the phone call saying I've been accepted how will they notify me?

I'm in the same boat as you. My Bears den page says it still hasn't been reviewed, but I did recently get the email saying it would go under review in EA II. Keep in mind the deadline is still 3 days away.

From my experience in EA I, they called people who were offered appointments beginning around Thanksgiving and throughout December; all other people (waitlist, rejection, etc.) were notified by e-mail on December 22nd.

crossing my fingers! tomorrow is the last day unless they'll tell me on february 1st....trying not to freak out

If it happens like it did for EA1, on February 1st (for EA2 applications), you will get an email stating that your decision has been updated on your Bears Den account. You will need to log in to your Bears Den account, which will have a section where you will then go to your original Application page, there you will find a letter from Admissions with your decision. Good Luck!!

DS and I are a bit stressed here too. I'm worried that good news comes fast (eg a phone call or email) and bad news comes slow (by mail). Since we have not had a phone call or email yet, I begin to despair.

So EA II says will be notified "by Feb. 1st." does that mean the last day to receive decision is the 31st, or is it by the end of Feb. 1st?

Yep, I am as well. I received that email like 3 weeks ago, I guess I get my response on the last day.

Anyone hear anything yet? Still waiting to hear ANY news in DE!

Mom of USCGA Cadet C/O 2014 & 2017 Hopeful

Bears Den is where you log in to check status. On the home page of USCGA, there is a login on the top left of the page.

Nothing here in NJ. Bear's Den status does not even show that the file has been reviewed. I know, I know, I'm just a ray of sunshine, but news that comes this late can't be good. :-(

"Decision Available"

Bear's Den has been updated to state that decision is available. Waiting for DS to get home from school to look, but generally not too hopeful given lack of phone call.

Rejected!
This sucks.

As an Admissions Partner, please keep in mind declined is not "no forever". If you really, really want to attend, my advice is to attend your "plan-B" collage and take (as best you can) the same courses that a 4/c would be taking at USCGA, play a team sport, and apply again next year. It is not uncommon for a cadet to have two, (I know of one case where and incoming cadet had 3-years) at a civilian college and was accepted at USCGA. If after two years you are declined, there is also a little known program that you can use to become a commissioned Coast Guard Officer. With two-years of college (and good grades of course) and a SAT of 23 or better, you might qualify for the SCPI program. Read about it here: http://www.gocoastguard.com/find-your-career/officer-opportunities/programs/college-student-pre-commissioning-initiative-%28scholarship-program%29

Best luck to you -- never give-up your dreams.

Turned down as well, thank you to everyone for the great advice especially the people at admissions, Objee, Line in the Sand, etc.
