*All of these I was chosen because of my leadership capabilities
I know my math SAT score is quite low but I have been practicing over the summer and plan to take the SAT two more times. I figure I can get up to a 630.
With my W-620 CR-620 and possibly math-630, do i have a good shot of being admitted?

You look like a possible candidate for appointment. I would definitely work on getting that Math SAT up or try taking the ACT to improve math. Your academics look challenging enough. Don't slack off your senior year. You will have to send mid-term grades in to update your file. You have lots of activities and sports. Do you have a leadership position in any of them? It is better to have fewer activities and sports and have more prominent leadership roles in them. Any chance for club officer or team captain this year? Keep up the good work, and good luck to you.

your resume looks pretty solid. i took about the same classes you did, end GPA was a bit lower. i did pretty well on the SATs and ACTs, though my math score was similar (630) i got lucky on the writing and reading. definitely take the ACTs, and work on all your scores, not just math. not saying theyre bad, but the higher the better. youre in alot of activities, make sure you stress any LONGEVITY that youve had in any of them, as it shows committment, as well as any leadership roles youve had. (i had 4 years of baseball with capt jr and sr, and some other long term extracurriculars). dont be modest on your app, let them know what youve got, they want to know about it and wont if you dont tell them (but avoid padding). overall, keep working hard, get your stuff in early, if you havent yet DO AN OVERNIGHT VISIT, apply for all the nominations you can, and nail your interviews (theres alot of info out there on how to do that, but each one is different). good luck, perhaps ill see you next year!

Hey thanks so far everybody.... Pretty much all of my activities I have done for all four years of high school. I hold leadership positions(Eucharistic Minister, Marianist Mentor, Co-pres of Young Vincentians) and possibly more that i do not know of this senior year. Those mentioned before I was chosen by faculty and administration based on character, acdemics, and leadership

Contact the coach of the sport you want to play to see if they will help you. It helps having someone from the academy pulling for you!

There are many factors that get you admitted. Like where you live and your nominations and stuff. But I don't know if you need a nomination for this Academy.

You need a nomination... and senators/representatives all are a little different in what they require. HOP TO IT, DB10!

Read the requirements carefully... Get you things lined up NOW. Often Sept/Oct are Nom interview times (or very early Nov).

You really need to boost the Math scores.. you want to not just get IN, you want to be able to GRADUATE!

Good luck. Keep us posted on your progress.
Now, stop reading forums and get your packets together! :)

I agree get those nomination apps done ASAP. I think the deadline last year was Oct 15. You need to give the High School time to get transcripts out. DS had his apps done and out by 10/1. He was glad that they were done so I could stop nagging him. His interviews were last week in Oct beginning of November. The time line is tight.

my school requires that all service academy material be handed in on september 9th (second day of school for me). I have already completed the application, and nomination packet(only applying to noe senator b/c I am also applying to west point and used the other two possible sources)

Apply to all

You should apply to all nomination sources for all the academies you are interested in. My son applied to all 5 academies and received nominations to 3 out of 4 that require them. You are playing a dangerous game by picking and choosing and trying to outsmart your MOCs, and you may lose out on nominations all together!

Actually...

I agree get those nomination apps done ASAP. I think the deadline last year was Oct 15. You need to give the High School time to get transcripts out. DS had his apps done and out by 10/1. The nomination paperwork deadlines vary and are set by each Congressman and Senator or their staffs generally dependant on their planned interview/selection process and schedule. However you are correct in general that deadline to having the material each of the nominating authorities require is generall between early Sept. and mid October the fall prior to your year of entry.

As I recall from the timelines I've seen the USMMA Admissions Office requires the Nominating autorities to submit their nominees no later than sometime in January (not positive might actually be a date in Feb) of the year of entry, though in both these cases I believe you can generally find the eaxact information/dates on each of the Nominating Authorities Websites and the USMMA's Admission Site for the final deadline ...

In general, since Congressional slates are due in to the respective academies in January, congressmen typically make sure their interview panels have completed the interviews before Thanksgiving (sometimes, by a few weeks).

Paperwork due in to the Congressman's office is before that, sufficient enough so that aides can compile, check, and organize it, schedule interviews, mail/notify interview appointments, etc... and put stuff into ubiquitous spreadsheets :)
