Default does the Field Admissions Counselor interview count?

I was contacted by a Field Admissions Counselor for my area. I have a meeting scheduled with him. I have completed everything else-including DODmerb and CIS. Will this meeting with the Field Admissions Counselor count as an interview? I emailed my BGO and never heard back from him about an interview. I know I know I know it is still early and they have other jobs ;)

Is it common to be contacted by Field Admissions Counselor this early in the process? I am learning not to read too much into anything but a bit of hope is a good thing too.

to follow up on my own question-I have friends in other areas who have not yet completed their application but have already interviewed with their BGO. I have 100% completed my entire application but my BGO has not responded to my request for an interview. I know they have some time to write up their evaluation of the interview and I am concerned that my packet will not get put in front of the first admission team without the interview done and the evaluation turned in. Does anyone know this year's timeline?

I have never heard of the term "Field Admssions Counselor" until someone asked that a week or so ago on the USNA forum ....no one answered that question either. Is this perhaps a new term being used? I did a search of this site and can't find any previous threads using that term. There are LOTS of threads relating to the term BGO.

I think the best advice it to focus on getting you application done to meet the various deadlines. It is better to be thorough then to rush and miss something. MOC generally have deadlines for submitting your application more toward the end of the year (varies by MOC, so check their website to be sure). You need to be 3Q AND have a NOM to be in the running for an appointment.

There are many other things you should be focusing on and rushing to be in the first review by the academy isn't one of them.

Thank you time2,

The person who called to set up a time to meet introduced themselves as "Field Admssions Counselor". My BGO is a different person.

I 100% completed my application and turned it in on the CIS. There are no blanks left.
SOEs are in
they have all of my transcripts etc
I completed my essay
I passed my Dodmerb (according to Drs)
I took the CFA ( I dont think I can do any better):
BB Throw: 68'
Pull Up: 18
Shuttle: 8.6
Push Up: 75
Sit Up: 95
1MR: 5:39
I took my ACT four times (E34, M34)-I dont think I will be able to do any better but I am signed up for a fifth this fall.
I have all my MOC apps completed but not turned in (they dont take updates so I am waiting until farther the school year to add some things)

I cant think of what else I should do next except for my interview. I would welcome any tips on my next direction. I do want to keep moving forward but I feel like I am now at a stand still.

Meetings with Admissions Counselors, whether they are Field Admissions Counselors or Annapolis Counselors, do not count towards your Blue and Gold Officer Interview.
