Afternoon, everybody! I'm a candidate for the USMA class of 2017. I just finished my application, so I have nothing better to do than bother you guys. I have wanted to apply for about ten years now, and my week at SLS only reinforced my hard-headed ways.
On another note, I read the first few pages of West Point's general forums and have a few questions about the lingo. Specifically, "DS" and "The Corps Has." I picked up that DS refers to your kid, but I'm wondering what it stands for. According to my MALO, I have "very good records," but that phrase is a little ambiguous. Would anyone care to assess my chances? Thanks in advance! -35 Composite ACT: 36 Math, 35 English, 31 Writing, 33 Reading, 34 Science -5's on the following AP exams: Chem, English Lang/Comp, Euro History, US History -4.0 GPA, top 10% of class -3 years of football (1 letter), 3 years of weight training (captain last year), 1 year of track (shot put/discus) -Passed the CFA at SLS -Bilingual (English, Spanish) -Great sense of humor -Vast mental collection of chuckle-worthy cultural references One last thing: can anyone give me some more info on the class validation process, or point me to a thread with a similar subject? |

Your record does look great-alot of it depends on if you come from a competitive area or not. Do you now how competitive your area is?

As in, my congressional district? Then yes. IL-06 is one of the most competitive districts in the country (Western suburbs of Chi-town, if you're wondering).
My graduating class size is 650, so being in the top 10% isn't too easy, either. |
