Default number of appointments

Will the number of appointments offered be reduced next year like they were this year?

We just returned from the academy. I heard this question answered by someone from admissions. The answer was that exact numbers had not yet been set but they were anticipating next years class to be around 235. Smaller than this year.

You also have to take into account those coming from the CGAS/prep school program. I believe there are currently around 40-50 cadet candidates who will be guaranteed a spot in the class of 2017 if they get through CGAS and prep school. Realistically then you're looking at fewer spots than is actually advertised.

Get that application in early, make it look as good as you can, and keep expressing interest to your admissions officer.
