Default West Point Moms

I am one of the admins on West Point Moms on facebook. When someone requests to join, we send them a message asking about their cadet or future cadet. If the facebook settings are too strict, we cannot send the message, so the request appears ignored. If you have a pending request and have not heard from us, this is why.

Just a reminder to you new-to-West Point-Moms: there is a facebook group for you. Many moms want to connect with other moms, and that is the purpose of this group. It's a place to ask questions, build friendships, and support each other on the long gray roller coaster. Type in West Point Moms in the search function on facebook and request to join. See you there!

Default West Point Mom Survival Guide

mom3boys,

Your book is great! We found it in the Museum gift shop as we headed out of town after Ring Weekend. I had my wife read bits and pieces of it to me as we drove home. By the time our 12-hour trip home had ended, she had read nearly three-quarters of the book aloud. The ride home turned out to be one of the best ever. Your book was spot on and truly encapsulates the West Point experience from a parent’s point of view. I highly recommend it for a prospective parent and the parents of a New Cadet now Plebe.

I'm so glad you liked it! It was a labor of love! Debbie and I wanted to make the journey a bit easier for the parents coming after us. While some things will change (authos, privs, scramble--to name a few), we hope it will be helpful for years to come. So much of the book was a group effort by the West Point Moms....the best women (IMHO) on facebook!

Make an "Audiobook" Your wife could have slept during the ride home. Mine always did. Sounds like a great Book.

They asked us to make it available in audio and Kindle...but honestly, there are many expenses involved w/ doing that (we are self-published)...and being a little mom and mom operation, we're going to stick w/ paper for now. We thought people would need "hard copies" of the book so they could highlight all the good stuff (we are just arrogant enough to think it's all "good stuff").

Is this book something I can buy online or do I have to go to West Point to get it?

The book is available three places:

1. The Museum gift shop
2. Amazon
3. The book's website.

If you want an autographed copy, the only place for that is on the book's website. If you google: The Mom's Guide to Surviving West Point, you will be taken to the website. The price is the same on the site and Amazon...the difference is that Amazon fulfills orders via print on demand technology, and the authors have a box of books in the dining room...we sign them and mail them off to you the next day. =)

My wife purchased a copy when our son was accepted (class of 2016). Wanted to tell you that I borrowed it and enjoyed it immensely. Maybe you should change the name to "a parents guide to surviving West Point". When is the sequel coming out?
