Default ANY NEWS?

Hey everybody, Just out of curiosity, has anyone gotten any sort of letter from the admissions board?? I have heard whispers that some guaranteed offers of appointment if remaining admissions requirements are satisfactorly met have gone out. Has anyone's dodmerb status changed to reflect this? Have a great day!!

I received an invitation to the CVW in September, like I said in my earlier post. However, I have not received any letters or such from Admissions yet. The admissions board doesn't even meet until September 7 anyways.

My DODMERB status is qualified. It hasn't changed. I think it will be unlikely that Admissions will send me a LOA since I already have a nomination.

I do know a few LOA's have gone out... apparently they reviewed some apps early. That's all I know.

Nothing yet. DoDMerb still just says "Qualified" for my son. I've seen news of two LOAs, one in a post on the class of 2017 facebook page (which has been removed because of Academy rules pertaining to posting about LOAs on FB) and the other on this forum. My son received a CVW via email last week and will hopefully go Oct. 11 if he is given his first choice. Still patiently (or not so much) waiting along with you!

DS got a CVW invitation for 9/21, but nothing has changed in CIS, nor has he received anything else from admissions.

Just curious if those who are receiving CVW's also attended NASS? I know USCGA does not invite those who went to AIM to attend Cadet for a Day and was wondering if USNA is the same?

My son opted to go to AIM instead of NASS, so he has not visited Annapolis. His BGO knows this, so I wonder if the Navy wants him the chance to compare?

That's kind of what I was thinking... although USNA may not do it that way. Mine went to NASS, not to AIM, so he was invited to the CFAD at USCGA but haven't heard anything about a CVW.

Navy does not exclude NASS attendees from CVW invites. Many, perhaps most NASS alumni seeking an appointment receive invitations to CVW over the course of the year, up thru April.

Huh? The academy has no jurisdiction over what a candidate can say on his private Facebook page. That doesn't sound right and it's the first I've heard of it.
