Default How much to answer?

Hi everyone,

On one of my MOC's applications, he has a series of questions that are obviously meant to be short answer, mini-essays (250 word limit). For the majority of them, that limit was not hard at all to fill. However, there is one question that seems pretty straightforward, and I feel as if elaboration would be considered off-topic or simple fodder:

"Do you plan to pursue a career in the military service?"

I've already answered it in a single sentence, and I have added on what I thought was immediately pertinent: How long I plan to serve, what I hope to do, and why.

I feel that embellishing the "why" should be what I should do, because with a limit like 250 words, a 50 word response feels way too brief. However, I don't want to do too much, especially if the question itself does not directly ask for it.

What do you guys think?

If you feel you got your point across in 50 words, I'd say there is no reason to put a bunch of fluff in it. It sounds to be a max of 250 and not a min if I understand correctly.
