As to LDAC and BOLC, IIRC first BOLC sessions tend to be mostly WP graduates (they're getting paid from day 1). Now as to where they slot the cadet in (DD IIRC, right?) in afterwards, that is a mystery. If it were DS and going Infantry, this might not be a bad thing considering the weather in GA.
Just a note on the above comment.

WP Grads get leave after graduation, I believe about 60 days. A lot of ROTC grads will go to BOLC before the WP grads start showing up. NorwichDad's son started IBOLC just a few days after graduation, my son started Aviation BOLC 13 days after graduation, there was not one WP grad in his class. The WP grads did not start showing up for a few weeks. My son was told that OML placement had some to do with getting the early BOLC slots. Granted, there are a lot of ROTC Grads that don't start their BOLC that soon but usually the first ones to report to BOLC are ROTC grads, then followed by the WP Grads. Unlike ROTC grads, WP grads get to see the list of BOLC dates and select based on their own OML standing, a lot of them will go for a late summer/early fall due to the fact they have paid leave they can take before BOLC. ROTC grads just wait for the orders to come in stating when they are to report, they don't get to choose, and they don't get paid while they wait.

AROTC Parent,

Good luck to your son, sounds like if he works with his professor he can work it out. Sorry to hear the cadre was not willing to work with your son. My son's battalion has 2 Officers and 3 NCO's and thay have always been able to work out schedule issues and accomidate cadets that had a conflict. Hopefully a change in cadre is quick coming. Best of luck to your son.
