Question Eligibility?

I have a peanut allergy and I have read that this automatically disqualifies me from consideration for admission to the naval academy. However, everything I have seen has referred to life-threatening allergies to peanuts, but all that happens to me is I get hives on my face (and maybe take benedryl). My allergy is not life-threatening, do I still have a shot at admission?

If one takes a look at the DODMERB section of this forum, one will see your question rephrased with several dozen variations from seasonal allergies to missing body parts. The consistent answer by those that seem to be knowledgeable is that your question can not be answered reliably here. One must apply, get the medical exam, probably get rejected, and wait to see if a waiver is granted.

Second the post above.

I would imagine it would be difficult to obtain a waiver for anaphylaxis b/c of the potential for a more severe reaction. However, I'm NOT an MD and, as noted so succinctly above, you won't know until you go through the process.
