Default Can I get nominated to 2 academies?

I understand that in competitive states (I live in one) the MOC will "talk" to ensure that an applicant does not get nominated twice. Does this refer just to the same academy or just one nomination overall. I know I cant get two to USAFA for example, but does living in a competitive state also make is very difficult/ impossible to get one to USAFA and one to USMA? Thanks.

It completely depends upon the MOC.

My MOC will nominate folks to two SA's IF IF IF they are the highest ranked after interviews...

Like Steve.said, it depends on the MOC and obviously the state and how many apply. In my state, if u r one of the best, u can get 3 nominations to air force, 3 more to army, and navy if you want them.

But remember, more nominations doesn't mean you get a higher score or looked upon better. We only have one representative for the entire state. So on average, only about 4 appointments happen each year. Usually 1 moc has 2 slots. maybe a 5th appointment if one has a presidential and gets selected. More nomimations open you to more slates but doesn't raise your score or make you look more desirable. Remember, its like a lotto ticket. U only need one to win.

Talk to the person at the office of your MOC who deals with service academy issues and ask your questions. Part of their job is to assist you with this process. My DS received three nominations (one to each of three different service academies) from one MOC. We are convinced that the relationship he had with the MOC staffer (just by being polite and professional over the phone and when he arrived for his interview) contributed to his success. Good luck!

I interviewed with my congressman and one of my senators. I received two nominations for USNA and two nominations for USMMA. Your MOCs can nominate you for more than one academy and you can receive more than one nomination for a service academy.
