Back at USAFA we have a ton of pilots, so we pretty much understand what it is to be one.
However, there are minimal CSOs, and this is a career path I'm very interested in. The school year is quite far out, so I would really appreciate any insight one has on this position. Thanks in advance! |

20+ year career as a WSO (now called CSO) in F-111s and F-15Es. Loved the career, loved the job, loved the folks I worked with. Realize now that the CSO career field is open to more than just fighters now, with the Strike Eagle being the only AF fighter that has them still. The Navy has NFOs in thier Super Hornets and Growlers. Other airframes like the B-1 Lancers also have CSOs. You have some specific questions, ask away. PM me if you want. If you want to do a a little more research on your own, I recommend looking at this site: http://www.flyingsquadron.com/forums...s-officer-cso/ Lots of good background info there, and some general discussion on the life and career oporttunities for CSOs.
