Scattered showers and Thunderstorms- bring your umbrella and have a great time playing "Spot the Rat" in the ceremony and in the New Market march thru!

Despite it being a "Soggy Sunday"- how did things go for the Oath ceremony? I see they have posted a slide show of the Rats at New Market

Many thanks for this post, Bruno. I haven't done my daily VMI webpage stalking yet so I hadn't seen it . I am so grateful I was able to be there for the Oath, charge, and parade and, of course, to spend precious time with my Rat.

It was amazing! And the rain/drizzle kind of made it feel sort of realistic, since they said that it rained on the Sunday the battle happened. The charge was amazing! The best part, though, was the great big bear hug I got from my DS! And I loved meeting and spending time with a couple of his BRs as well. It was also really nice meeting some of the other parents. We took our DS and two of his BRs out for dinner in Staunton, and the assistant manager was so happy to have us there. Those boys looked so sharp! I am very grateful that we live close enough to have attended.

I will never forget the bear hug or the change is him. Glad the rain didn't make for a bad day for all of you

For those parents who are looking for glimpses of their "pride and joy"- they now have about 1000 shots of the Oath ceremony at the battlefield and march-thru New Market posted at the VMI photo store: http://www.vmi.edu/Content.aspx?id=4...bID=4294969359
