As a heads up for all the applicants who are considering any type of LASIK refractive surgery, it is still not allowed for any type of Naval Aviation (even with a waiver) and for those who are considering going to an academy or ROTC program (any service), they still must meet the medical standards for entrance to those programs through DoDMERB. News stories are great, but they do not always paint the complete story.
