Default 235th Army Birthday celebration

Happy Birthday US Army! 235 years and counting. Hooah

Quote:
"Two hundred and thirty-five years ago, the United States Army was established to defend our Nation. From the Revolutionary War to the current operations taking place around the world, our Soldiers remain Army Strong with a deep commitment to our core values and beliefs. This 235th birthday commemorates America’s Army – Soldiers, Families and Civilians – who are achieving a level of excellence that is truly Army Strong. Being Army Strong goes beyond physical endurance and mental preparedness. It encompasses an indomitable spirit, and high ethical and moral values. These are not only desirable traits in a person, but in a Nation that wishes to live up to the ideals and vision of its founders. We are “America’s Army: The Strength of the Nation."

Just found out the 101st gets the day off for this. I think I may have to send everyone home early...like 0901 early.

I have been at work for just over two hours. There is no chance that we will get off anytime soon.

However, I am told that we have a very nice, very large cake comming from the bakers at the local Costco down the road!

Thinking back to my days in the Pentagon- I don't suppose there is any beer coming to wash it down with huh? Those DCSOPS guys never have any fun!
Happy Birthday anyway

Despite my authority to cut everyone loose, that's really up to the Detachment Commanders and Team Sergeants. Plus we have inventories to do. But if anyone would like to send us a cake...

I am hoping to invoke a bit of Marine on this group. I told my deputy to hit the class VI store up at Henderson Hall to pick up a few bottles of spirits and while he is there to visit the “new” walk in Humidor for a good box…..I am just hoping that the two bills I gave him is enough....Even though he says it will be.
