Default BFE

A somewhat silly post, I admit, but I have a question:

I have read several posts in which the wait for the "BFE" is a central concern. I don't recall this term being thrown about when I was in the college admissions game years ago. So....

I have read the acronym to read "Big Fat Envelope." Is this just the family-friendly version? I have a feeling the "F" might actually be an Anglo-Saxon favorite. Am I wrong here?

As the TWE (Thin White Envelope) acronym has come to signify a rejection letter, in contrast so has the BFE (Big Fat Envelope) come to represent an appointment offer.

Well, I guess the meaning of the "F" could change depending on what one finds inside... Actually, I think it really does just mean "fat," since it is supposed to contain numerous forms (or so I'm told - still waiting/hoping/praying for ours...) to distinguish it from the very THIN dreaded rejection letter.

Default BFE not so F

Monday DS received a FedEx envelope from USMMA admissions. He had conditional appointment, nomination and had just turned in good fitness test results. So we were waiting for B Fat E. It came Fedex and it was Big, however it was also Thin I stared at it all day waiting for DS to come home. He opened it,,,,,,,nice congrat.s letter but had a fill in the box reply form to accept his appointment to,,,,,,wait for it,,,,,NMMI Class of 2012, huh? We jumped in quickly with; Great, congrats, Roswell will be awesome,,,, it was a quiet dinner. Verified the next morning that, yes, it was a mistake. They resent a fill in the blank acceptance/decline form yesterday. It has been signed and faxed back. USMMA class of 2015.....a year from now he will probably wish he was at NMMI getting Calc under his belt! So, is the "F" for fat? We are going with "Frickin". Happy Thanksgiving!

Interesting how all this poster's other posts are just as obviously SPAM....yet they remain.

Borderline Spam?? You have to be kidding. Looks like a Bangkok web site or a leftover from Saigon. Probably has a Trojan embedded "no pun intended". I think I have to clean my computer.
