Just wondering, anyone told they were going their package was going before the November boards and if so did you hear anything back yet?
For that matter, even October boards? I know the Air Force boards don't meet until December so all's quiet from those folks but Navy board has already met and it seems overall pretty quiet as well, with a few exceptions. just curious... |

People have heard back from a NROTC board that met in early October but how many times the "board" has already met is a Navy secret as are the future dates the board is scheduled to meet.

I think Nov 9th was the board date I heard his package was being submitted for. We were told it was the 3rd board, the second being in October which we just missed at the time...

If the second board was in October, when was the first? Thanks.

I also heard from my local coordinator ( I can't attest to his reliability) that there was a late October Board which was the 2nd review board. The reason why I don't know if my information is so credible is because on this forum there was only 1 "round" of people who reported getting scholarships, not 2. Unless it's a coincidence that nobody on this board was selected during board #2...
I guess It could make sense that the November board met a couple weeks ago. It would have met just in time for applicants to hear back around Thanksgiving time- I've heard that's a time that they've let applicants know in the past. Who knows, like I keep on saying, It's ALL speculation. |

My son was called today by his local coordinator and told he was given a "$180,000 scholarship" to his #1 school. Just checked the website and it shows his 4 year scholarship to MIT!
Now all he has to do is get in! He did apply early action though, so hopefully he'll know something soon! Now for the hard question - obviously if he gets rejected, he calls NROTC and asks for his second choice school. If he gets in, he's all set. But what if he gets "deferred" or "waitlisted" or whatever they happen to call it there? Anyone had any experience with that? How long do you wait before you lose your chances at another school/slot for the NROTC scholarship? Thanks! |

Nope - I just checked it now and it still doesn't show NROTC on his Dodmerb status - just USNA and USAFA, which have shown as qualified since July.

gotcha. so much for that theory DodMERB was a reliable trip wire a decision was made by a ROTC board. Do you know if his package went to an October board or are you sure it was the November board?
