Default PLC cut by two thirds

Good Morning,

I applied for a Marine ROTC scholarship but did not receive one.

I got into VMI, and my back up plan has been to go there anyways and apply for the PLC program when I get their.

However, a student at Texas A&M told me that they are cutting PLC slots by two thirds this year.

Any one have any insight into this?

Given that 2011 PLC contracts are already in the pipeline, I doubt that what you have been told is accurate.

However, given the budget cuts that are predicted, and given that the Corps in particular is preparing for a force reduction from 202,000 to 186,000 or roughly 16,000 Marines, then yes, I expect to see a certain amount of reductions to PLC in the coming years. To what extent is unknown at this time and any guess would be pure speculative.
