Default Being re-boarded

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone with experience could tell me a little about being re-boarded. My application met the second AFROTC scholarship board, but I was not selected. It says on the website, though, that my rank meant I'd see the next board.

Do they re-board all or the majority of applicants that are not selected for a scholarship? In other words, does being re-boarded mean they have an interest in me and I still have a chance of receiving a scholarship, or is it highly unlikely?

My intended major is a critical language, but I know the Air Force primarily wants tech majors.

Thank you,
James

Reboarding usually happens because the candidate is sitting on the cusp somewhere. I.E. Type 1 and 2, 2 and 7, 7 and nothing. I know you would love to read an answer, but nobody can give you one regarding your chances.

It really will be what the last board applicants WCS that will play into the equation. Basically it is a numbers game they have X amount of scholarships, draw a line, above that number you get a scholarship, below you get a TWE.

The problem this yr is that due to AFA releasing their mass mailing starting now, and with the anticipation of only 1050 for the class, many candidates that received a scholarship are holding onto them waiting to see if they get an apptmt. Which creates a ripple effect regarding AFROTC scholarships.

All we can say is hold tight, enjoy the rest of your sr yr in HS and make sure you have Plan B, no scholarship in place.
