NROTC MO OCS entry getting tougher?

Spoke with DS today and what he told me is news to me. It may not be news at all but the way things have always worked; but I thought I'd pass it along to others, in part to find out if it is something new.

1. In the final year of preparation for OCS a PFT score of 270 or less will be considered sub-standard.
2. In the final year of preparation, regardless of PFT score, a 3 mile runtime greater than 21:00(M) or 23:00(F) will be considered substandard.
3. MIDN with substandard performance may not [I read WILL NOT] be nominated to attend OCS.

I'm not concerned about DS as his scores have always been 296-300 for every PFT but I was curious if this is news to folks who have been around here for a while. I'm thinking this is being done as a way to trim the number of new 2LTs with the upcoming budget cuts, etc. However, if it's always been this way then my theory would obviously be incorrect. Would love to hear from folks.

b. The projected yield of Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) United States Marine Corps (USMC) accessions is: 380 per targets set in reference (a). OPNAV N15 has set FY13-FY15 NROTC USMC accession goal at
320 FY-13,
300 FY-14, and
240 FY-15.

Big hits coming it seems. FY-15 is a 37% reduction from FY-12. No wonder they're tightening the PFT standards to attend OCS.

So the NROTC number is still a bit higher in FY-2015 than it was pre-9/11. Of course I have no idea what the FY-2015 numbers are for PLC, OCS, or MECEP, but I doubt PLC and OCS are even as high as they were for FY-2000.... and furthermore my opinion is based on no facts whatsoever, and therefore must be accurate. LOL
