Just wanted to let you know that my son received his Appointment to the USNA this Friday 11/23/2012. He received a letter a week before that he received a nomination from our congressman. We were surprised to hear so early, but very grateful to know. Wondering if any others have heard?

That's fantastic! I also received my offer of appointment on Friday, and my nomination from my senator the week prior. I however was expecting the BFE after the nomination since I received an LOA in October.
Did your DS have an LOA, or was his appointment a bit more unexpected? |

Congrats!
If you don't mind me asking, what did his resume look like? (SAT's, GPA, ECA, Service, etc, etc) |

He did not receive a LOA although his BGO said that he was very competitive. So "Yes" it was unexpected mostly because it was so early. Others we know from previous years didn't hear until late January and beyond. So we were very excited to hear in November.

I'll have to check with my son to see if he cares if I post his info. I would say however, he has a very strong resume.
