Default Getting the nomination

So, I've gotten two LOA's so far, but I just got a letter of rejection from the first of my two senators. Has anyone been in this situation or know anyone who has? and what happened? did they get a nomination elsewhere?

Thanks,
Geoff

Wow, your district must be extremely competitive. I know mine was, since almost everyone in the waiting room had a LOA in their hand, lol. Don't worry, you still have a great chance at getting a nomination from the other senator/congressman. Don't forget that USNA selects people who applied for VP nomination as well; I was told that those are usually reserved for people who live overseas, and for people who are extremely quallified but did not get a nomination for whatever reason.

In our area, the senators' offices communicate and usually do not both interview the same candidate, although sometimes it does happen. It is really nothing to be alarmed about. You will likely interview w/ one senator and your congressman. You only need one nom, so do your best and try to relax!

Yes, good point.

Last year, my son (LOA in hand) received a rejection letter from Senator #2.

It arrived the day before the nomination letter from Senator #1.

They had communicated with each other and agreed not to nominate the same people, but their letters arrived out-of-order.

No worries, for candidates in most states the best shot is with your Representative.

Thanks all!

Congrat's Luigi59!

I wish I could say the same happened to me, but I still haven't heard back from Senator #1.

but yeah, I'm really pulling for my representative. I've got the best shot there, and I know I'm 1 of only 2 to have an LOA to USAFA in my area, so that's encouraging.

Thanks for the info,
Geoff
