Default Bobby Ross Resigns

Another new day for Army Football - After 3 years and a 9-25 record Bobby Ross resigned and Stan Brock was hired as his replacement.

Go Army!

Now there is a name to pull the Army football program out of the doldrums. They must have been in a financial bind after paying Ross all those millions.

Googled Stan Brock and found out that he was the co-founder of Wild Kingdom. Certainly hope there are two of him. However, if there were, I am sure I would have heard of at least one of them.

Same one. And he was a goat-tamer prior to WK initiative. Thus his qualifications ...

And I think he was NCAA backgammon champ as a collegian.

I know you both think you are funny - but stick to your day job.
Wrong Stan Brock.

Per Wikepedia:

"Stanley James Brock (born June 8, 1958 in Portland, Oregon) was a tackle in the National Football League for the New Orleans Saints and the San Diego Chargers. Brock attended the University of Colorado at Boulder.
After his NFL career, he was a coach in the Arena Football League, where he served as the head coach of the Portland Forest Dragons (1997-1999) and the Los Angeles Avengers (2000-2001).
On January 29, 2007, he was named the head coach at Army after the resignation of Bobby Ross."

Nothing here about NCAA backgammon - but if he was the champ -Army stands a shot against Navy. He will bring strategy and luck to the team.

They will need the luck. Wikepedia describes the Portland team under his tenure as hapless. Actually they folded after his last year there. His combined won/loss record for his five years in Arena football is 21 wins and 49 losses. A veritable coaching icon.

Attention!!!Attention!!!! Very low blow to follow:
Think he will try the University of Colorado's recruiting gambits which culmunated a few years ago to try to get players to Army?

C'mon now we all know Navy's reign of terror is over.

PS: I think gold cadets would be a better nickname than black knights
